Plain-language privacy summary
Here is what LaneSight does with your data, in plain language.
- Your data is yours. LaneSight works offline by default. When you sign in, your data syncs to our servers for backup, multi-device access, and features like session sharing and coaching. We store only what is needed to provide the service.
- We do not sell your data. No advertising, no data brokers, no third-party analytics. Your bowling data is used to provide LaneSight and nothing else.
- Camera processing stays on your device. LaneSight uses your phone camera for shot tracking. All frame processing and ball detection happen on-device in real time. Recorded shot clips sync to our servers as part of your session data.
- Clip retention follows your tier. Shot clips are retained for 7 days on Lite, 90 days on Player, and 1 year on Player Pro and Coach. Session metrics and stats are retained indefinitely on all tiers. When clips expire, they are permanently deleted from our servers.
- Detection improvement is opt-in. If you opt in, we use your synced session clips and tracking data to improve ball detection and tracking accuracy for all users. Only the relevant parts (like the ball itself) are retained for training; everything else is discarded. Opting in does not extend your clip retention period. You can opt in or out at any time in Settings.
- Third-party content stays attributed. Oil patterns imported from Kegel remain attributed to Kegel (patternlibrary.kegel.net). Ball specifications in our catalog are sourced from manufacturer data.
- A&I runs on our servers. Analysis and Intelligence requests are processed on LaneSight servers. No API keys are stored on your device.
- Coach sharing is opt-in and revocable. Shared sessions are read-only for coaches. You can revoke access at any time.
- You can export and delete your data. Export a diagnostics report from the Diagnostics screen in Settings. To request account or data deletion, contact support@lanesight.tech. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
- Junior accounts are parent-managed. Bowlers under 18 use LaneSight under a guardian overlay with parental oversight of data, coaching relationships, and messaging. See our Child Safety Policy for details.
