Junior accounts are parent-managed

Junior bowlers (under 18) use LaneSight under a guardian overlay. A parent or guardian creates the junior's profile, generates a claim code, and the junior links their own device. The parent retains oversight until they initiate a formal release.

  • Juniors cannot create accounts independently. All junior accounts require a guardian.
  • Juniors sign in with their own Google or Apple credentials, linked to the guardian relationship.
  • Guardians can release the account when the junior turns 18 or at their discretion.

Data collection

Junior accounts collect only bowling analytics data: session metrics, shot tracking, equipment selections, and display name. We do not collect date of birth, location data, photos, or biometric information. We do not serve advertising to any user.

Coach-junior safeguards

  • Session sharing is parent-controlled. Only the parent can enable session sharing with a coach. Shared sessions are read-only.
  • All messaging is parent-visible. Every coach-junior message thread includes the parent as a mandatory observer. The coach is always informed that a guardian is watching.
  • No direct discovery. Juniors cannot appear in the coach directory or initiate coach contact. The parent sets the coaching relationship.

Data ownership and deletion

  • Parents can review, export, and request deletion of their junior's data at any time.
  • Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. All session data, clips, metrics, coaching relationships, and message history are permanently removed.
  • On guardian release, data ownership transfers to the now-independent account holder.

Regulatory compliance

  • COPPA (US): Verifiable parental consent via the guardian claim code. Parents can review, modify, and delete data. No data collected from under-13s without parental involvement.
  • GDPR (EU): Processing based on parental consent (Article 8). Parents exercise data subject rights on behalf of juniors.
  • Australian Privacy Act: LaneSight Analytics Pty. Ltd. complies with the Australian Privacy Principles. Junior data receives the same protections as adult data, plus guardian oversight.
