Always-on ball tracking.
For centers that mean business.
One ceiling-mounted unit covers a full lane pair. Bowlers walk in, open the app, and bowl. The Apex handles everything from the ceiling.
The alternative
What lane tracking costs today
Specto and Clutch are the incumbent systems. They work, but the pricing assumes you have no choice.
| System | Hardware (per lane) | Annual fee | Approach analysis | Center owns hardware |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Specto (Kegel) | ~$14,000–16,000 | $495 | close | close |
| Clutch (add-on) | ~$9,500 | $495 | check | close |
| Specto + Clutch | ~$23,500–25,500 per lane, installed |
$990 ($495 × 2 systems) |

| LaneSight Apex | ~$425/lane ($850/pair, one-off) |
None | check (via phone) | check |
A 40-lane center fully equipped with Specto + Clutch: ~$1,000,000 installed plus ~$39,600/year. The same center with LaneSight Apex: ~$17,000, zero ongoing.
Setup
Installed once. Ready every time.
From box to tracking in an afternoon. A lane mechanic with no software background can complete the install.
Early access: We bring portable prototype units to your center for a trial session. No commitment, no installation.
Mount
Ceiling-mount the Apex above the shared gutter between the lane pair. Connect PoE ethernet. One cable carries power and data.
Scan
Scan the QR code on the unit with the LaneSight companion app. Select your center and lane pair. The backend provisions the unit automatically.
Calibrate
Mark the lane boundaries on a captured overhead frame in the companion app. Done once. Never again unless the unit is physically moved.
Done
The Apex connects automatically at boot from now on. Bowlers open the LaneSight app, select their lane pair, and track. No per-session setup.
What it does
Both lanes. Both bowlers. At once.
Dual-lane coverage
One unit, two lanes. The 120° overhead view covers the full lane pair simultaneously. Two independent tracking instances run concurrently. A coaching session with both lanes active works out of the box.
Zero bowler setup
The bowler opens the LaneSight app, selects their lane, and bowls. Three taps to start tracking. Everything else lives on the ceiling.
Always current
The Apex runs the same Android tracking software as the LaneSight phone app. Every tracking improvement, every algorithm update, applies to the Apex automatically. One codebase, always in sync.
Approach analysis
Bring a phone and get two independent data streams: ball path from the Apex overhead, delivery mechanics from the phone's pose detection. Or leave the phone in the bag. The Apex tracks the ball either way.
Works on any internet connection
The Apex relays tracking data to the LaneSight backend over a standard outbound internet connection. Bowlers connect from anywhere. Their phone can be on cellular while the Apex is on the center's LAN.
Software updates for life
The Apex receives free software updates for as long as the hardware can run them. When a future capability needs more compute, the unit stays on its last supported version. It keeps working exactly as it always did.
Hardware
Built to last on the ceiling.
| Coverage | One unit per lane pair. Both lanes tracked simultaneously |
| Camera | 13MP overhead. Wide field of view covering the full lane pair |
| AI accelerator | Built-in neural processing unit. No separate hardware required |
